You can mount a disk image or ISO images using the mount command. This is useful if you want to copy a few files from an ISO image without burning the image to CD or DVD. You need to use the following commands:
b] mount - Mount file system.
c] umount - Unmount file systems
Syntax
The syntax is:
vnconfig /dev/vndXy /path/to/file.iso
vnconfig vnd0 /tmp/file.iso
mount /dev/vndXy /mnt/
Examples
In this example, mount an ISO disk image called /home/nixcraft/downloads/foo.iso:
To unmount the image, enter:
# vnconfig vnd0 /home/nixcraft/downloads/foo.iso
# mount -t cd9660 /dev/vnd0c /mnt
# df
# cd /mnt
# ls -l
# cp xyz /home/nixcraft/
To unmount the image, enter:
# umount /mnt
### Detaching vnode device from the image ###
# vnconfig -u vnd0
